Hospice Caregiver Awards

Kibler Cares 2025 Hospice Caregiver Award

Program Description

Kibler Cares is a family based charity created at the request of Margia (Marge) Kibler.  Marge filled her life with things she found to be beautiful, but she also struggled with many of life’s challenges, including the deaths of her daughter Melissa and her great niece Jennifer. They both passed away after lengthy battles with cancer, and Marge made a promise to donate any of her remaining estate to help put joy into the lives of those in hospice care.

The Kibler family has decided to extend that joy to the professional givers of hospice care. Jennifer was just a child when she was diagnosed, and she passed away just shy of her 18th birthday. At that time the role of hospice caregivers was left to her parents, and our family appreciates the compassion, dedication, and skill that caregivers must have in order to provide in-home hospice care.

To that end, Kibler Cares desires to make two monetary awards of $1,000 each to an individual care giver who provides exemplary hands-on hospice care. Candidates will be nominated by either the agencies that provide in-home hospice support or the families that benefited from their care.  Nominations will be made in accordance with agency guidelines and applicable laws.

The timeline for presenting the award is as follows:

March 1 – Kibler Cares makes applications available to agencies or families desiring to nominate a professional caregiver (nonfamily members)

June 30 – Application deadline

July 17 – The Kibler Cares Board selects recipients

July – Recipients will be notified by the end of July
